Johanna Rosalye Luna is a seasoned Broadcast & Multimedia Journalist with over a decade of experience covering news and sports at the local and national levels. A Phoenix native, she studied Journalism at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Communications at the University of Phoenix. Her passion for sports was sparked by growing up with four older brothers, leading her to a career that blends sports, media, and storytelling.
Her journey began in 2011 with the Hispanic Heritage Baseball Museum Hall of Fame, contributing to their blog and co-hosting Al Punto de la Pelota podcast. This opened doors to covering the Arizona Diamondbacks and Major League Baseball while appearing on various media platforms. In 2012, she launched More Than Simply Baseball, later expanding into More Than Simply Sports and eventually founding Insight Sports Network. Through these platforms, she hosted Insight Sports Talk podcast and the Spanish-language podcast Punto Deportivo, serving the Spanish-speaking sports community.
Johanna Rosalyé has covered major sporting events, including the MLB Postseason, NBA Playoffs, WNBA Finals, MLB & WNBA All-Star Games, and the CONCACAF Gold Cup. Her work includes collaborations with The Sports Kave, serving as a Spanish-language broadcaster for the Phoenix Suns with La Mejor Arizona, and as a News & Sports Reporter for Enlace Informativo on La Onda 1190AM/107.5FM. She has also contributed as a freelance journalist for VIVAPHOENIX.com.
In 2023, Johanna Rosalyé embarked on a new chapter as a 2024 State Forty Eight Foundation grant cohort recipient for En Breve News, a bilingual news platform dedicated to amplifying Hispanic voices. Through English and Spanish reporting on politics, education, healthcare, business, and community resources, the platform works to bridge critical information gaps within underserved communities.
Driven by her own lived experience with endometriosis—marked by years of pain, misdiagnosis, and navigating a complex healthcare system—Johanna Rosalyé expanded her advocacy beyond journalism. In 2026, she founded the Luna Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and empowering women living with endometriosis. The foundation was born from her personal journey and a deep recognition of the lack of culturally competent care, community support, and patient advocacy available to many women. Through the Luna Foundation, she is committed to creating safe spaces, providing resources, and amplifying the voices of those often unheard.
Through journalism, storytelling, and community advocacy, Johanna Rosalyé remains committed to elevating diverse voices, breaking stigmas, and ensuring representation across media, health, and social impact spaces. ☽
